The role:
We are currently looking for a Performance Support Manager to join our Performance Team in the Production department here at DB Cargo UK. The role will target the mitigation and prevention of train delays to reduce the company’s financial exposure to the Network Rail Performance Regime. The role will also consist of travelling to our different Yards and Terminals throughout the UK to conduct performance reviews to limit the source of delays.
The role offers a hybrid and flexible working basis from home and from our headquarters in Doncaster.

What you will be doing?
Here are some of the responsibilities that the successful candidate will have on a day to day basis:
Identify root cause issues that lead to TRUST DA costs associated with DBC UK services on the rail network updating and maintaining information on the Performance Support Tool to support the Performance Team disputes to Network Rail.
Liaise locally with front line staff at DBC UK and customer terminals/yards to conduct detailed investigations into performance failures that lead to Right Time Departure (RTD) not being met.
Collaborate with DBC UK Service Delivery Managers to produce and maintain localised performance KPI’s.
Develop relationships and work locally with customers to review Method of Working in yards and terminals that put DBC UK services at risk of RTD failure.
Produce detailed RTD performance reports to aid the Performance Manager with Access Rights Applications to Network Rail.
Aid in the review, investigation and challenging of TRUST DA incidents associated with DBC UK services at times of significant disruption ensuring DBC UK maximises its revenue potential.
Work closely with DBC UK Maintenance to understand key issues that lead to locomotive/wagon reliability and availability failures.
Represent DBC UK on Network Rail local performance forums.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for candidates who have experience in working in a Performance Management Team within the rail industry and who have extensive knowledge of the UK rail system and routes.
We are looking for a candidate who has good communication skills with both internal colleagues and also third parties and Stakeholders. With the nature of this position, a meticulous key for detail is desired as well as the ability to identify efficiencies and challenge the norm.
We are also looking for a candidate who is able to be flexible and problem solve as this is a large part of the role. Microsoft programme skills are essential as well excellent data handling skills, along with a due diligent hands-on approach to working and self-motivated to be able to manage their own workload, as well as manage those in the team. is desired.
