Job Title: Deputy Head of Grounds
Location: Ware, Hertfordshire
Salary: 25k -30k depending on qualifications and experience.
Job Type: Full time, Permanent. Hours: 40-hour week, normally 8.00am – 4.30pm.

The Role
St Edmund’s College offers modern facilities in a magnificent country setting in rural Hertfordshire, providing a safe and stimulating environment for young minds.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Deputy Head of Grounds to assist the team of Grounds staff with looking after the grounds and sports facilities.
The successful candidate will also assist the Head of Grounds with coordinating landscaping efforts and related outdoor maintenance services, to train/manage grounds staff and ensure performance and quality.
Whilst not in a teaching role, as Deputy Head of Grounds you will be working on a regular basis in a school in a role which gives opportunity for contact with children. As such, you will be in regulated activity and an enhanced DBS check (which includes children’s barred list information) will be required in advance of appointment
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. As with all College staff members, you will therefore be responsible for providing a safe environment in which children can learn.
Ideal candidate
Applicants must have good communication skills and the ability to work on their own initiative.
A basic knowledge of sports pitch set up / layouts would be desirable but is not essential.
