Job Title: Bar Manager

Salary: £36,000 per year
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time. Hours: 45 hours per week.
The Liffey is synonymous with the iconic Grand Central building, and you would have the opportunity to be part of the exciting reopening of one of Liverpool’s iconic grade 2 listed buildings. The Liffey Sports and Social Pub will offer a vibrant, lively and fun environment, with live music, we are looking to create a one-of-a-kind, high end, go to venue in the city centre.

The Role/Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time experienced Bar Manager with knowledge in a similar role. We are after someone who can see what needs doing and tackle it in an organised and efficient manner, with the skill to prioritise and plan ahead. You will be used to high volume and delivering high standards whilst working under pressure. You’ll motivate, educate and inspire your team to deliver the best customer experience in a unique place of work.
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing the business aspects of the bar, taking inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals
- Hiring and training staff to provide excellent service to customers
- Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that bar is well staffed during peak hours
- Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls
- Ensuring licenses are updated and in line with current legislation
- Working with diverse personalities both with the staff and customers
- Planning and taking part in promotional events
- Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for patrons
- Getting stuck in and leading from the front
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Must have, substantial bar experience in a fast paced, large and lively venue, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a bar manager
- Must have managed a team of people
- Have experience in a themed venue (desirable)
- Know the Liverpool social scene
- Experienced in building an energised and engaged team
- Have a real authentic desire to develop a legendary venue
- Experience in a busy, fast paced business
- High energy, sociable and outgoing
