Job Title: Planning & Buying Manager
Location: Kettering – Site based, Monday to Friday
Hours: 8.30-5.00pm with 1 hour lunch break (37.5 hours)

Seddon Boxes is a long-established family-owned UK rigid box and jigsaw puzzle manufacturer, based in Kettering. The business supplies packaging and puzzles to many well-known premium brands. We are a small customer focused company that prides itself on producing high quality solutions within industry leading manufacturing times, so flexibility to react quickly is key.
The Role:
To support the production process by processing and planning orders into the production schedule, buying all materials to meet this schedule and ensuring the factory can produce the customers’ requirements on time in full.
Maintain accurate raw material and WIP stock records. Liaise with customers as required to support the Commercial Team.
Job activities:
- Receive customer orders and check for raw materials and WIP.
- Purchase all materials required to complete customer orders.
- Ensure all materials are ready for die-cutting and production to meet the production plan and in turn meet the customer’s request date.
- Create job tickets for the relevant production team.
- Feedback the expected despatch dates to the Commercial Manager, for onward communication to the customers. During holidays and busy periods cover the customer communication as required.
- Communicate despatch dates to the Office Manager to ensure transport is adequately covered.
- Hold a daily planning meeting with the relevant cross functional managers to ensure everyone is aware of the most up to date production plan.
- Have sufficient oversight of the production output by liaising daily with machine operators in the factory area.
- Plan the work queue for multiple machines to run simultaneously.
- Ensure raw material and die cut stock records are up to date for the business.
- Log all production figures to share with the business.
- Be flexible and work as a team to deliver the business needs.

- Flexible to suit rapidly changing customer demands.
- Ability to analyse production data and feed into the planning process.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Happy to work as a small team
Essential Experience:
- Production planning
- Buying of raw materials
- Maintaining stock figure information
- Confident in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
Desired:
- Box or carton manufacturing experience
- Print procurement experience
