Job Title: Financial Accountant – Analyst (Part Qualified / QBE)
Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: Up to £32,000 – £36,000 per annum
About the role:
The Finance Planning and Reporting Analyst will play a key role in the SYNLAB Central Finance Team and will work closely with various senior stakeholders across the UK Businesses.
Other duties include:
- Member of the HQ finance team reporting to the UK Financial Controller
- Preparation of the monthly UK reporting pack to Group (Munich). Turnover – £100m
- Responsible for coordinating information requests from both Group and UK management
- Investigating variances and identifying trends in the UK business
- Supporting the HQ business as a finance business partner
- Managing and coordinating the reporting of the annual budget and quarterly forecasting (c 10 business units)
- Responsibility for the financials of the Head office P&L
- Support the Finance Manager (HQ) and the wider business to improve the internal control environment
- Contribution to the preparation of UK statutory financial statements
- Liaise with tax advisors
Essential Skills and Experience:
Essential
- ACCA / CIMA / ACA – qualified with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Financial Accounting
- Experience in Financial Analysis and Trend reporting
- Worked on Management account preparation with budgets and forecasting
- Good communication skills as s/he must be able to hold budget and cost review meetings
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends
- Confident, personable, and approachable
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure with an appreciation of working to challenging deadlines
- Highly numerate with excellent English language skills
- Strong, excel and word skills general standard in Microsoft Office packages
Desirable
- Experience in a Corporate environment with exposure to Group reporting.
- Experience of financial analysis amongst different business dynamics
- Experience of budget preparation with understanding of the process.
- Experience of using TM1
