Job Title: Service Manager (Tenancy Services)

Location: Kettering

Salary: £27,000 – £33,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job type: 37.5 hours per week. Full-Time and permanent.

The Role:

Are you looking for a new challenge with a growing organisation? Could you be our next Service Manager? Your role will be to ensure the service remains high quality and person centred whilst managing the service on a day-to-day basis, looking for growth opportunities and ensuring compliance at all times.

We are very keen to look at people who may not have worked in housing before, but have management/business development experience, that have a passion for the work we do and would like to be trained in housing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • You will be working closely with the CEO to develop opportunities for Accommodation Concern to develop and become a leading & sustainable homelessness and anti-poverty charity across the new North Northamptonshire Unitary Authority
  • Be responsible for the growth of provision and day-to-day delivery of all properties managed by Accommodation Concern
  • To manage the Tenancy Services team, ensuring timely supervision and appraisals
  • To be responsible for coordinating and providing a personalised, trauma informed support service to people with complex needs facing multiple exclusion in line with Housing First Principles
  • To be responsible for coordinating and providing a person centred, strength-based support service to create long-term sustainable tenancies by increasing independence and maximising connectivity with the local community
  • Deputise for the Chief Exec as required

Experience:

Essential:

  • Managing and supervising staff; effectively coaching to enable creative problem-solving
  • Displaying patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Ability to be thorough and pay attention to detail
  • Administration and recording procedures with the ability to audit case notes and gather required data to support full evaluation

Desirable:

  • Supporting people with complex needs (Drug, Alcohol & Mental health)
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team approach to ensure the best outcome for the client
  • Managing clients in crisis and through the safeguarding process

Knowledge and Understanding:

Essential:

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office packages
  • To be able to promote the rights, responsibilities and informed choice of the people receiving the service through reflective practice with the staff team
  • Know when to seek assistance or supervision and how to engage meaningfully in planned supervision

Desirable:

  • An understanding and knowledge of the Housing First model and belief in the values and principles
  • The complex interdependencies of mental health and substance abuse and offending behaviour
  • The ability and commitment to working with vulnerable customer groups and people with complex needs – at a pace and way in which they choose to work
