Job Title: Service Charge Accountant
Location: Stotfold
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience

About us:
We are a successful Property Management company with a portfolio of prime and super prime properties in central London. Our admin and accounting functions are undertaken at our office in Stotfold, Bedfordshire.
Leading a small team, you will report to the Operations and Office Manager. Applicants must have a proven track record of service charge accounts & finance work and have had experience of managing or mentoring fellow staff members.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and finalise the service charge accounts up to and including Trial Balances.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide annual service charge pack and supporting documentation for audit.
- Ensure auditor queries responded to promptly.
- Ensure balancing charges reconciled and demanded/credited accordingly.
- Liaise with property manager and ensure year end accounts are distributed to leaseholders.
- Identify any potential future cash-flow difficulties to Client accounts and ensure cash balances and future pinch points reported to property manager and debt recovery team member.
- Liaise with Property Managers to ensure budgets for the next period are completed and distributed in line with company policy/contractual obligation.
- Ensure accurate expenditure figures are provided for the estimated year to date alongside the budgets as a comparison tool.
- Provide quarterly financial reports for the relevant managers.
- Provide regular Client report as per contractual obligations.
- Provide VAT returns for part elected VAT properties to Client.
- Ability to motivate team members and ensure their tasks are completed as expected.
- Attend Client meetings as necessary.
Essential skills required:
- Excellent understanding of service charge accounting
- Management skills and experience to ensure reportees are meeting their goals and are mentored accordingly.
- Sound working knowledge of Excel and ideally Qube MRI software.
- Ideally, ACA/ACCA part or full qualified
Desirable skills required:
- Good understanding of RICS/ARMA guidelines
- Good communication skills with colleagues, lessees and clients
- Well organised and able to keep to strict timelines.
