Job Title: Warehouse Operative

We work with some World-famous brands, the majority of which are in the Motorsport industry however, we also supply products into the Aerospace, MOD and Marine industries so as you can imagine quality is of the utmost importance. We have a specially kitted out workshop, one that you would be proud to work in which is located conveniently just on the outskirts of Milton Keynes centre. We are recruiting for lots of new team members due to huge growth within our order books.
Job Purpose:
To ensure the smooth flow through of parts and goods in and out of our Stores department, through effective picking, goods in and despatch processes.
The Job
As a Stores Operative, you will work within a busy Stores team, reporting to the Stores Manager. You will learn all aspects of Stores, including picking, goods in and despatch, to effectively carry out these processes efficiently and effectively. You will be expected to report any stock issues to the Stores Manager and liaise with staff to fulfil or direct their requests for stored goods.
Main Duties:
- Picking items for these lists, working to targets set and ensuring accuracy for batch control.
- Completing Despatch tasks, ensuring all aspects including making boxes, labelling, and packing are accurate and efficient.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of all stored products, their part numbers, locations, and batch control.
- Process goods in and stock put away.
- Maintain and update the shortages board and report shortages to the Stores Manager.
- Aid the Stores team in general warehousing duties to ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Understand and comply with procedures in place to fulfil your goals in the stores role and aid the Stores Manager with improving and developing these procedures.
- Aid stock management using cycle sheets.
- Identify stock control/movement issues and be proactive in rectifying these problems.
- Provide cover throughout Stores in times of absence, where required.
- Training of less experienced Stores team members, where required.
- Deputise for the Stores Manager’s stores related tasks in their absence, where required.
- Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy
- Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives.

- No specific qualifications are required to succeed within this role.
Experience
- Experience working within a fast-paced stores/warehouse environment.
- Experience using ERP computer systems.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in the use of IT.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage own workload.
