Job Title: Audio-Visual Design Engineer
Location: Winchester
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 7.5 hours a day 8.00 to 16.30 – 37.5 Hrs a week (60mins break a day) Some overtime may be required
The main objectives of this role are:
- To provide system design, drawing and documentation support to the installation sales team
- To act in a strong supporting role to the WAVI engineering and programming teams to implement and record the system implementation.
- To make a personal contribution to the successful development of the company
Job Role:
Design engineering:
- To take the lead role in supporting the sales director with Audio-visual designs for various clients and projects during initial enquiry and tender stages, then through to supporting the installation teams during the project implementation.
- To liaise with client stakeholders and IT teams, collating information required to ensure the smooth integration of the AV solution into the existing IT infrastructure and client operational teams
- To visit sites to gather data and survey spaces to enable the systems design to fit the building and client’s needs.
- To create detailed design packages, including mechanical construction and working drawings for custom metal work, building layouts and construction details, cabling schemes, rack layouts for our engineering teams and other site trades working in support of the AV installation.
- To collaborate between sales, engineering, and programming to ensure coherent design data is provided to all areas of the implementation team and all updated data is collated, recorded and shared.
- To take a lead role in the creation of all project documentation, manuals and handover data, and training materials for all projects.
- Take an active role in the WAVI team support, assisting with the management of equipment fault finding and repairs for both company and client equipment.
WAVI Team Support
- To help carry out, organise and manage in house maintenance tasks, such as PAT testing of any Installation portable equipment, Ladder and vehicle checks and maintenance of company systems if and when a need arises.
- To input, update and help collate all customer and supplier data by the use Connectwise manage back-office systems.
- To undertake supplier training courses on new equipment and systems that may be implemented within installation projects
Company Support
- OFFICE SUPPORT – To assist with client reception (telephone, fax, email & walk-in) and the provision of immediate client service
- TEAM COVER – To deputise for absent members of the installation team as required
- HEALTH & SAFETY – To comply with the company’s Health and Safety policy and practices and contribute to safe working practices and environment
- SECURITY – To observe company standards of practice regarding vehicle, equipment and premises security
- MISCELLANEOUS – To observe company policies and agreed practices
