Job Title: Exams and Exams Access Arrangements Administrator

Salary: £21,273 – £22,584 per annum

The College is located in Hulme a mile south of the centre of Manchester and very close to Manchester University and Manchester Metropolitan University, with excellent transport links. It is one of the largest Sixth Form Colleges in the country and rated as Outstanding at the last Ofsted Inspection.
About the role:
To support the management of the examinations service, ensuring that there is a systematic approach to the administration of examinations and that the service meets quality standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the specialist assessor to ensure that the JCQ AARA guidelines are followed and students are supported appropriately in their exams.
- To contact schools for information on students who have disclosed previous access arrangements and keep school contact database updated
- To gather and collate access arrangement evidence for students. Including, teacher evidence, specialist medical evidence, and completion of relevant forms.
- Working with students, teachers, HOH, and HOD to ensure centre based evidence is provided in a timely fashion
- Managing appointment booking for students requiring access arrangement investigation
- Support the logistics of exams with access arrangements, including organising staff and rooms where appropriate
- To update tracking spreadsheets and ensure student files are accurate and compliant with the JCQ.
- To apply to examination boards for special arrangements for students with medical needs, disabilities or learning difficulties, and maintaining the “evidence” required by the examination boards for such students and the applications in accordance with JCQ requirements.
- To support the preparation, organisation and supervision of these examinations in accordance with the exam regulations laid down by all the examination boards.
- To organise the formal issue of certificates to students at the presentation event.
- To ensure examination papers, scripts and assessments are held securely and dispatched in examinations and to exam boards according to the exam board regulations.
- To maintain an efficient filing system associated with all aspects of examinations.
- To invigilate examinations where appropriate
- To assist the CIS department with data inputting as required.
- To work as an effective member of the whole college administration team.
- Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be allocated by the Principal, or his designates or the Office Manager to enhance the work of the college.

- Experience in an administrative role
- Proficiency in working with standard office applications such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook

- A keen interest in and knowledge of assistive technology for students with disabilities
- Ability to train young people in the use of technology
- A clear understanding of developments in post-16 education

- Educated to degree level or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience that demonstrates a high order of literacy, numeracy and analytical skills

- Smart in appearance and manner
- Ability to work outside normal office hours on occasions
