Job Title: Admissions Registrar

Salary: £32,911 to £38,420 (experience dependent)

The role:
The Admissions team is the first point of contact for prospective parents, so first impressions are critical. The team currently comprises of a Head of Marketing and Admissions and a Marketing and Admissions Assistant. It is the team’s responsibility to ensure that the journey from enquiry to joining the school is as smooth as possible, by providing excellent customer service in a timely manner
The Admissions Registrar is expected to have a whole school approach and ensure that they understand the importance of school events in relation to termly activities.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- To be the point of contact within the school for all enquiries from parents considering St Faith’s.
- To take overall responsibility for all admissions enquiries from the first contact with a prospective parent through to the student joining the school.
- To provide leadership and vision to ensure that the school’s admissions practices and procedures are efficient, up-to-date, compliant and effectively implemented.
- Ensure that all enquirers and applicants receive a positive impression of the school.
- To excel in customer service and be a firm believer in the ethos of the school.
- To be responsible for all administrative requirements relating to school admissions.
- To oversee the arrangement of parent appointments and tours and to conduct tours of the school where necessary.
- To coordinate all arrangements for familiarisation visits and entry assessments.
- To liaise with feeder schools in order to promote St Faith’s and develop strong allegiances.
- To support the organisation of school Open Morning events in conjunction with the Head of Marketing and Admissions and Head of Pre-Prep.
- To ensure the efficient on-boarding of all pupils into the school, and to maintain electronic records using SIMS and Admissions databases.
- To be familiar with the school’s admissions-related policies, Terms & Conditions, legal obligations and risk factors.
- To ensure that the prospective pupil data on SIMS is up to-date and accurate and that the system is being used effectively.
- To be responsible for the collection and verification of all prospective pupil data prior to pupil admission to the school.
- To provide reports to the Admissions department, SMT and Governors, as required, to analyse 5-year trends and make recommendations for future actions.
- In line with Government and ISI requirements, to manage and administer the admissions.
- To have responsibility for the planning, preparation and execution of key admissions related public events.
- To attend a selection of School events.
- To be mindful of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other legislative requirements at all times.
- To adhere at all times to the School’s Child Protection procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong A levels or equivalent.
- Educated to degree level.
- Education sector / independent sector experience.
- A minimum of 3 years related experience in an admissions role.
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Market research and analysis skills.
- Organisational and planning skills.
- A professional and personable manner and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with parents, children and staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, is able to maintain a high level of efficiency and be calm, confident and professional with a variety of audiences.
- High expectations and an ambition to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Outstanding writing and technical / IT skills. Must be competent with web-based communication and MS Office applications.
- Experience of database work.
- Excellent Stakeholder relationship management skills.
- A willingness to work flexibly as the needs of the role dictate (including weekends and evenings on occasion).
- Strong writing, proof reading and editing skills, including the ability to tailor content and format to different stakeholder needs.
