We are now recruiting for a Trainee Project / Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Chelmsford. This is an entry-level role and no prior knowledge or experience is required. We will sponsor you to complete a Degree Apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying and then to pass the professional assessment to become a Chartered Surveyor. You will attend University one or two days per week and will develop your practical skills by working with our experienced Surveyors for the rest of the time.

You will be supporting the day-to-day management of several projects, working with both the commercial and residential teams. You will be involved from project inception and through planning, procurement, construction, and until hand-over and final defects inspections. The job will cover the roles of Cost Manager, Employer’s Agent and Project Manager and will commence Dec 2022 / Jan 2023.

Candidate Requirements / Experience in the following:

  • You must have a minimum of 112 UCAS points and at least 5 GCSE’s at grade 4 / C including English and Maths.
  • You should have an understanding of the roles of a Quantity Surveyor, Employer’s Agent and Project Manager as well as an interest in residential and commercial property development. You will have excellent numeracy skills and strong written and spoken English.
  • You need to be client focussed with a professional demeanour and be able to communicate confidently and diplomatically in a variety of situations. Ideally you will have some work experience but it doesn’t need to be relevant to this role.
  • You must be capable of moving around a construction site and must either already hold a valid UK driving licence or be capable of obtaining one. Please note that we are unable to sponsor work visas of any kind so you must have a permanent right to work in the UK.
