Job Title: Purchase Ledger Clerk
Location: Ware, Hertfordshire
Salary: Dependant on Experience
Job Type: Part time (15 hours a week), 3 month Fixed-term contract (With possible extension to 6 months)

The Role
To assist with accurate Maintenance of the purchase ledger from invoices being received to being posted on the system and filed.
Responsibilities include
Process invoices to ensure timely payment to suppliers:
- Distribute supplier invoices to Budget holders and approval.
- Posting invoices to supplier accounts on PASS.
- Preparing payment proposals for authorisation by the Bursar and Assistant Bursar.
- Processing payments either by cheque or BACS.
- Keeping records of monthly council Tax for residential properties and processing payment.
- Reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Dealing with supplier queries.
- Provide cover during staff absence and leave.
- Dealing with mail, opening and distribution.
- Answering and resolving where possible telephone calls from parents, suppliers and staff.
- Maintaining efficient filing and other information systems.
- Carrying out general office duties, including photocopying and filing etc.
Ideal candidate
Essential
- Working within an Accounts team.
- GCSE English and Math (Or equivalent).
Desirable
- AAT Qualified/Part Qualified or qualified by experience.
- Working within private education.
- Purchase ledger experience.
