Job Title: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Farnworth, Bolton BL4 0AN

Salary: Salary dependant on experience

Job Type: Full time / Permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 4pm and Friday 7.30am – 12.50pm (38 hours per week)
About Us:

We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager to join our team at Heatrod in Bolton. An integral role in the business reporting directly into the Operations Manager. Working alongside our production, quality and customer service departments, the ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role (within a manufacturing environment) with great people management skills to support our purchasing and stores teams.

This is the opportunity to work with the current team to further define and manage the purchasing process and supply chain strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review and authorise day to day purchasing
    • High Volume
    • Low volume fabricated components
    • Bespoke engineered components
  • Supplier Management
    • Develop a network of suppliers capable of supporting current requirements and strategic goals, building close relationships with current suppliers.
  • Systems upkeep ensuring all information is up to date to ensure supply continuity.
  • Incoming logistics (Sea & air Freight)
    • Supporting the Warehouse Co-Ordinator
  • Stock Control – daily/weekly PI counts/annual stocktake
  • Ensuring kitted parts are provided to production in a timely manner
  • Continuity of lineside stock levels (Kanban’s)
  • Dispatching of goods to customers (UK and Worldwide using various shipping methods)
  • Attending meetings across all areas of the business as required
  • Liaising with the quality team to deal with issues as they arise
  • Management and Leadership of the Purchasing functions
    • Coaching and leadership of direct reports

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years managerial experience within a manufacturing/Engineering environment ideally in a similar role (covering purchasing with some knowledge of the warehouse function)
  • Good people management skills with the ability to train and develop team members
  • Strong IT skills with experience of stock management systems, spreadsheets, email etc.
  • Ability to analyse current process and make improvements as necessary
  • Strong communicator at all levels with the ability to ensure that key stakeholders feel involved in any changes.
  • CIPS qualification (desired but not essential)
