Job Title: Estimator (Architectural Metalwork)
Location: London, SW19
Salary: £23,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Job Type: Permanent, 40 per week.
John Desmond Ltd is an Architectural Metalwork company specializing in the bespoke design, manufacture, and installation of metalwork for major commercial and high-end residential projects.
Our products include staircases, cladding, balustrades, and other feature metalwork in stainless steel, brass, bronze, aluminum, glass, and wood. Our clients are typically major building and management contractors.
The role:
- To provide and develop accurate pricing of all schemes to clients whilst improving the overall bottom line net profit returns based on past experience and past performance of projects.
- To advise on possible cost implications/variations if design changes.
- To track, cost, and handle all variations from estimate to order status.
- To draft and place purchase orders.
Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
- The applicant must be able to read architectural and engineering drawings and specifications and have a knowledge of metal fabrication, including surface treatments and coatings.
- Knowledge of and experience with CAD is required.
- An understanding of the methods and procedures involved in modern contracting would be expected.
