Job Title: Transport Manager

Location: Purfleet, Essex, RM15 4YA

Salary: Competitive rates of pay, salary negotiable depending on experience

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Hours: 45 Hours per week (Start times from 6am – 9am)

We are an ethical and fast-growing company, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Manager who knows what it takes to manage drivers in a fast-paced, multi-drop environment to join our team of exceptional people.

The role is based at our Materials Recycling Facility in Purfleet RM15 4YA.

About the Role:

As our Transport Manager you will be responsible for the road operations running as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Ensuring that we have the correct number of staff covering our routes across London providing a very good level of service. You will be expected to maintain high standards of compliance and improve our accident statistics. You will be responsible for the route planer, driver trainer and shift managers to help you meet these targets.

The role also incudes (but is not limited to);

  • Management of drivers and mates including conducting disciplinaries
  • Staff retention & training
  • Achieve a high level of professional driving standards including compliance
  • Achieve collection success targets

About you:

  • At least a B class license or higher
  • Good manager of people
  • Hold Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence
  • Experience of managing a transport department, preferably within the waste industry
  • Own car or own means to get to work
  • Live within 1 hour’s drive of Purfleet RM15
  • Ability to think independently & solve problems
