What you’ll be doing:
You will be based in our Reading office in a telephony-based role. This role will involve supporting the distribution and marketing teams across varying projects and initiatives – predominantly through out-bound dialling to promote Guardian’s proposition with intermediaries.
The role will involve promoting Guardian’s full suite of Individual Protection products to advisers or firms that might not have previously experienced writing business with Guardian.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving registrations
- Target ‘ready to contact’ firms within the Guardian CRM system, promoting Guardian’s products and proposition and encouraging registration
- Guide advisers and firms through the registration process
- Initiating full product training for all respective advisers within newly registered firms
Business development
- Generate a high volume of outbound calls and business development activity to any unassigned accounts
- Generate new business to meet agreed sales targets
- Work with the Distribution & Marketing Management Team to ensure you are promoting Guardian’s products and proposition accurately and effectively
- Have a great attitude and the ability to build new relationships with external contacts
- Ensure that all compliance and KPI requirements are met
Event follow-ups
- Contact delegates that have attended strategic partner events where Guardian has taken part
- Instigate longer term relationships, driving applications, APE and market share
Planning
- Ability to prioritise to achieve a high volume of outbound calls and business development activity
- Ensure all business objectives are achieved and excellent relationships, both internally and externally are maintained.
Continual improvement
- To review and identify opportunities, so that we can create a learning organisation, in line with agreed process.

- To be an effective role model within the team, living and promoting the Guardian vision and values to ensure the team are brand ambassadors, in accordance with the beliefs of the business.
The Candidate:
Ideally you will have the following experience:
- Experience in a telephony-based role
The following experience would be desirable but not essential:
- Sales experience
- Financial Service experience
- Protection knowledge
- Intermediary sales experience
