Walsall Council is seeking an experienced, dynamic and innovative individual to manage its new Community Safety Team, support the Safer Walsall Partnership Board and contribute to the Councils Resilient Communities model.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Community Safety and Enforcement the successful applicant will work alongside Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing and Community Protection to ensure the best possible protection for the most vulnerable individuals and communities within Walsall.
Once in post the individual will also help to develop the Councils Resilient Communities vision which has four main components
- Enabling and supporting people to have personal responsibility;
- Community led solutions;
- Integrated services for the delivery of support to communities
- Integrated enforcement
The post holder will ensure the Council meets its statutory duties under the Crime and Disorder Act 1988 and make sure that the Safer Walsall Partnership works effectively to meet its priorities.
About you:
The successful applicant will have a proven track record of bringing partners together to successfully combat issues such as Modern Day Slavery and Trafficking, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence, Prevent, Contest, Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and all forms of exploitation.
Experience in managing budgets effectively and commissioning services, identifying and securing grant funding for projects, programs and partnerships is important.
Additional Information:
For this role the successful candidates must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities. A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only).
