Job Title: Volunteer Officer

Location: Various sites in Ipswich.

Salary: £23,332 per annum pro rata (based on 16 hours per week)

Job type: Part Time

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and energetic volunteer officer to join L’Arche Ipswich; a charity supporting adults will learning disabilities

The role:

This is a new role in our small, dynamic team with the purpose of expanding our volunteer base to support adults with learning disabilities lead fulfilling and independent lives. You will be shaping the expansion of our volunteer network to meet the needs of our inclusive community.

The Candidate:

We are looking for an experienced professional in the field of volunteer recruitment and management who is looking for a part-time flexible role and who can champion volunteering best practice, inclusivity and diversity across the organisation and ensure that there is appropriate support and training for volunteers, partners and staff who work alongside volunteers.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • To oversee all aspects of volunteer recruitment and management on behalf of L’Arche Ipswich
  • Build strong relationships with staff and partners to imbed the value volunteers can add to L’Arche Ipswich and champion volunteering best practice
  • To assess the community’s needs and then meet those needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers
  • To manage volunteers and their relationship with those they come into contact with, including employees and service users of the community
  • To manage L’Arche Ipswich’s social media presence
