Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer – Composites (Aerospace/Manufacturing)
Location: India Mill, Darwen
Salary: £40,000 and £45,000 based on skills, experience, and any relevant qualifications.
Job type: Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week over a 4-day week, Monday to Thursday.

The role:
We are currently looking for a highly experienced Manufacturing Engineer in Composites with at least five years of working experience within an aerospace/manufacturing environment.
Manufacturing Engineers work closely within a cross-functional value stream to help support the ongoing operations of the business in rate production and NPI.
They will support the engineering function within the production cell and help to develop the process with technical solutions including material management to achieve compliant parts.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Work closely with the Team to maintain consistency in terms of rate production across the projects within the business
- Lead / Facilitate complex problem identification, containment, and resolution
- Create and implement action plans to rectify localised and systematic process breakdowns
- Help design, implement, and analyse new composite manufacturing processes, following a review of current processes, to identify risk and implement improvement plans
- Develop and support project-wide process manufacturing documentation for production activities, including preparation of Manufacturing Planning, Test Procedures, Manufacturing Procedures, and Quality Planning Control Plan.
- Support ongoing Test Analysis
- Assist in the development and facilitation of Process FMEAs and help maintain risk management policies and programs
- Support the design change management process by reviewing and approving engineering orders and drawings for technical requirements and process adherence
- Support Critical Design Reviews (CDR)
- Report results from product and process yield metrics to engineering and senior management to encourage design/industrialisation for manufacturability and quality
The Candidate:
- EPICOR Experience (Desirable)
- 3D Models Interpretation
- Ply Cutting and Ply Projection
- FAIRS (First Article Inspection)
- Time served in an Engineering/Technical Field or comparable experience
- Work experience in production/manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Computer Literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Working pattern:
- 4-day week Monday to Thursday 07:15 am to 5:00 pm totaling 37 hours weekly.
