Job Title: Warehouse Operative

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: Competitive

Job type: Full Time – Permanent. 4 on 4 off, Nights 1800-0600.

The Role:

Reporting to a Team Leader, you will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and capability to perform all aspects of warehousing in order to meet all key performance indicators and exceed customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Assisting with the unloading of vehicles and the checking in of stock.
  • Checking load for damaged or missing items upon receipt.
  • Moving and arranging goods in the designated areas / racks.
  • Collecting items from throughout the warehouse, preparing and completing warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to a schedule.
  • Performing warehouse inventory controls via scanner and or through a computer.
  • Stock counting and location checks.
  • Loading goods onto trucks for distribution.
  • Operating machinery and equipment as required for the above activity.
  • Assisting with the achievement of production targets.
  • Minimising production costs.
  • Minimising wastage.

Quality, Food Safety & Hygiene:

  • Complying with Company hygiene policies and procedures when undertaking operations while maintaining high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Reporting any unsafe practices which could affect food safety.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure conduct and behaviour to be compliant with Health & Safety legislation and guidelines.
  • Working in a safe manner with due consideration for personal Health & Safety and that of co-workers at all times.
  • Reporting any unsafe working practices.

Learning & Development:

  • Attending Company Training courses/sessions which will support your continuous personal development to ensure our manufacturing capability keeps pace with or exceeds our customer requirements. It will cover; food quality, food safety, health & safety and other aspects of competence required by legislation.
  • Following information and instruction to the best of your ability.

Teamwork:

  • Functioning to the best of your ability within the production team, treating other members of staff with dignity and respect.

Other:

  • Communicating effectively with co-workers and Management.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and operate IT systems as required and in line with legislation.
  • Ensure correct handling of customers products is carried out at all stages within the facility.
  • Carrying out operational tasks as requested in order to achieve departmental and site objectives.
  • Any other duties as required to fulfil the company needs.

  • Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Counterbalance and Reach Truck desirable but full training will be provided to the right candidate.
