Job Title: Careers Advisor
Location: Wigan
Salary: (£4,550.37 per annum) – 15-18 Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Pay Scale.
Job type: Permanent – Part Time. 1 days per week. 7.25 hours per week to providing careers guidance in one of our partner high schools – St Peter’s Catholic High School. Term Time only plus 2 weeks.
St John Rigby College offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses at all levels in a highly supportive and caring environment to approximately 1500 full-time students aged 16-18. The Role:
The successful candidate will work to provide high quality impartial careers advice to students, to support them in their preparation for a variety of career pathways. To work with the College Careers Lead, relevant staff, local employers, HE providers and parents/carers to ensure students have the most up to date career, information, advice, and guidance. You will do this through carrying out a range of 1:1 guidance interview, working with individual students to secure work experience and apprenticeship opportunities. Deliver assemblies, group work sessions, assist with careers fairs/mock assessment days, mock interviews and other events as required by the College. You will be expected to carry out tracking of student progression through analysing the College’s destination data.
This role is key in enabling and supporting the College in maintaining the required Gatsby Benchmarks and our Matrix accreditation.
