Following an internal promotion, we are seeking a new academic colleague to join us as Academic Team Lead (ATL) for Human Resource Management (HRM) within the People, Organisations and Practice Department within Aberdeen Business School at Robert Gordon University (RGU).

The Role:
The ATL for HRM is a Senior Lecturer role with line management responsibilities. An important aspect of the role is supporting development of the HRM team within the People, Organisations and Practice Department. This team is responsible for the design, development, delivery and assessment of the MSc HRM, that is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). As well as provision of the modules on this course, the HRM team deliver modules to students on a number of Postgraduate and Undergraduate courses including work-based courses in Aberdeen Business School.
Duties Include:
ATL duties include: course management, course marketing, leading on course development activity, oversight of the annual course appraisal process, liaison with relevant professional bodies and external examiners, monitoring of student feedback and performance, chairing appropriate Programme Management Team meetings and contributing to School Academic Board meetings, leading on course enhancement projects, preparing quality assurance documentation and leading student liaison activity. The ATL engages in recruitment and promotional activity for courses in their remit. A significant aspect of the role is the line management of academic staff members (Grade 8 and below) as delegated by the Academic Strategic Lead (ASL).
You will engage in recruitment and promotional activity for the MSc HRM and will be responsible for the overall student learning experience. The ATL works with the ASL and Head of School in ensuring target numbers for admission to the course are achieved, working in collaboration with Marketing and Admissions.
Person Specification:
Essential Requirements –
MSc (or equivalent) in Human Resource Management or related area.
Teaching Qualification (e.g., Fellowship of Advance HE).
Knowledge –
Familiarity with Academic Regulations and quality assurance and enhanced procedures.
Experience –
Experience as a Course Leader or significant course management experience.
