Higgins Group PLC is one of the largest family-owned construction companies in South East England. It was formed as the parent company of the Higgins Group of Companies in 1989.
The Role:
This is to assist / work with other members of staff within the plant yard & site services, to service the other divisions of the Higgins Group.
The duties would be to clean, repair & prepare Higgins site accommodation, plant & machinery ready for hire and maintain the yard to company standards.
You should be able to concentrate on performing tasks and commit to all Health & Safety rules.
Full training and development of all disciplines within the Plant Yard will be given.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assisting with maintenance and repair of all Higgins Plant.
- To assist loading & unloading of vehicles.
- Unloading & checking deliveries.
- Keeping the yard clean & tidy.
- To maintain a safe working environment & adhered to Health & Safety procedures.
- Be responsible for maintaining or requesting of new PPE.
- Comply with policies and procedures of the company.
- Must be flexible in terms of hours of attendance as work outside of normal working hours may sometimes be required.
- Undertaking any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Cleaning & maintaining of electrical equipment.
- Directing vehicles in & out of the yard.
Key Requirements:
- Basic DIY skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Hard working and willing to learn.
- Driving License.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety.
Desirable Requirements:
- CSCS safety card
- Own transport.
- Forklift License.
- Good learning skills.
Previous experience of working in the plant & accommodation industry.
