Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: CM9 5FA, Maldon, Essex.
Salary: £34,000 to £36,000 per annum
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent. The position is 40 hours per week and office based
Eppendorf CryoTech is a leading life science company that designs & develops ultra low temperature freezers for liquid handling in laboratories worldwide.
We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Maldon.
About the role:
- Maintain and continuously improve the company’s quality system.
- Immediate response for production line quality issues.
- Creation of First Article Inspection (FAI) Reporting.
- Carry out goods-inwards inspection.
- Monitor and analyse defect levels across all critical stages of the manufacturing process and feedback trends to all areas. Ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Lead preventive and corrective actions in relation to internal and external (supplier, customer) quality issues using 8D methodology.
- Prepare and present metrics associated with quality trends and related improvements within the supply base. Provide supplier development as necessary.
- Ensure that documentation is compliant with requirement.
- Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing / production principles and techniques to critical areas of production.
- Assist with new product introduction to manufacturing.
- Assist in the analysis of warranty returns.
About you
Education & Qualifications:
- A degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience of working with an ERP/MRP system for part master & parts list generation and maintenance.
- A qualified ISO9001 and ISO13485 auditor.
Professional competencies, special knowledge:
- Experience of working in a product design environment within a manufacturing company.
- Experience of working in an ISO 9001 company with engineering change control, documentation control etc.
- Experience of new system introduction.
- Experience of regulatory work on electromechanical products.
- Experience of Products with temperature or power control, (ideally refrigeration experience).
- Experience with Lean methodologies required.
- Capable of inspection parts.
