Job Title: Keyworker – Class Based
Location: Westerham
Salary: £17,686 per year (£1000 “Golden Hello” payment!)
Job type: Permanent, Full time (39 working weeks plus paid holidays)
The Role:
Valence School is a KCC Foundation day and residential Special School for children and young people aged from 4 to 19, with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning difficulties. We are part of the Kent Special Educational Needs Trust (KsENT).
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- As a class based Keyworker you will support a group of key students within a pathway class.
- Responsible for all aspects of their personal development and individual progress.
- Enable your key students to learn, promote their independence and help them to achieve.
- Involvement with physical management and personal care with key students.
Desirable experience and Additional Information:
- You will need to be a confident advocate, recognising the potential of your individual key students and championing their needs.
- Be able to keep comprehensive records therefore need a good level of numeracy and literacy. GCSE (or equivalent) Level 4 or above, in English & Maths is required.
- Experience of complex physical and medical needs is desirable along with a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching & Learning in Schools (or support is given to achieve this).
