Job Title: Technical Services & Deployment Engineer

About the role:

  • Deployment & set up of hardware at customer sites throughout the UK, both singularly and within a team
  • Ability to investigate, diagnose and troubleshoot a wide variety of problems, with network and computer hardware
  • Provide a point of escalation for then field service team in responding to and resolving support calls along with agreed SLA
  • Working knowledge to configure and install network hardware
  • Working knowledge of recent and current versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Use standard tools to deploy PC and server software builds from system images1
  • Attend customer premises and datacentres to install and maintain CCE and customer infrastructure
  • Lead delivery of projects & deployments, ensuring compliance with client expectations
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the principles of operation of recent and current releases of core Microsoft Server products such as Windows, System Centre, Exchange and SQL
  • Demonstrate significant experience of delivering technical projects and solutions in a client-facing environment
  • Assist the Resource Supervisor in coordinating the delivery and implementation of projects
  • Build and maintain technical relationships with clients
  • Propose the most efficient and effective means to solve business and technical problems using best in breed business tools, such as data migrations, virtualisation, upgrades, and new deployments
  • Ability to develop and implement methodologies, tools and scripts to speed-up deployment and integration
  • Ability to identify and mitigate technical risks when changes are made to a client’s environment
  • Ability to investigate, diagnose and troubleshoot a wide variety of problems, with network and computer hardware
  • Provide a point of escalation for technical team in responding to and resolving support calls along with agreed SLA
  • Single or multiple overnight stays necessary for customer deployments
  • Gain and maintain professional accreditations through training as defined by Management

About you:

Skills

  • Demonstrate extensive Laptop, Desktop, Server build & configuration and repair experience
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills
  • Microsoft – Windows desktop and server installation and configuration experience
  • SCCM – deployment and configuration
  • All major manufacturer hardware maintenance experience
  • TCP/IP networking (understanding of principles, well-known ports, basic routing and switching)
  • Aptitude for providing exceptional customer service even when the environment becomes fast-paced or intense
  • Excellent documentation and analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
  • Able to work well to pressurised deadlines
  • Able to provide and demonstrate creative and innovative
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Organized and able to identify and prioritise work
  • Ability to build strong relationships with support staff
  • Full, clean, driving license
