The role:

Morden College is looking for a qualified Registered Nurse to provide the highest standards of nursing care to all residents within Cullum Welch Court Care Home, carrying out an agreed plan of care and assisting in the ongoing assessment, development and evaluation of care needs with none of the pressures of hospital nursing.

Responsibilities may include but not be limited to the following:

  • To comply with standards of professional practice and conduct and maintain valid registration as a Registered Nurse with the NMC to practice.
  • To provide residents with a “good life” by promoting dignity, independence, choice, and fulfilment within a policy of managed risk taking.
  • To provide residents with comfort, security, and a sense of belonging, making a difference to their daily lives.
  • To provide professional nursing leadership to the care team during any span of duty, ensuring a high standard of nursing care is provided to residents, delegating care activities to other care staff as appropriate and in accordance with NMC Code.
  • To be responsible for the induction and supervision of newly recruited Registered Nurses and students on placement across all households.

The Candidate:

You will be friendly, approachable and caring with good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative or within a team. Some practical clinical experience in a care setting with the ability to deliver planned care are essential to be successful in this role as well as having a genuine interest in working with older people.

Having current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), NICE medication guidance and the Care Act 2014 are also important. A cheerful, friendly and flexible approach, with enthusiasm, commitment and imagination are valued as much at Morden College.

Benefits:

We will provide you with a generous pension, full time 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays (part-time pro-rata), subsidised meals, free uniform, and free onsite parking.
