CDS-Wilman – a design and build company specialising in the creation of hospitality environments from concept through to completion seeks a talented Catering Design Specialist with a desire to work with a commercially led design team. The role will offer a balance between creative exploration and technical delivery through drawn detailed justifications. The successful candidate will, on occasion and following a 6 month probation period, be expected to drive all facets of the development with both the client and the internal team.
The role:
We are currently recruiting for an Architectural Technician to join our Manchester office in Trafford Park to join the Interior Design team. Flexible working arrangement is offered to all staff and most staff are working two days at home and three days in the office.
About the role;
- Architectural Technician The ability to use AutoCAD is preferred as you will be working on medium/large scale projects in AutoCAD.
- Predominantly with the Interiors Team working on mainly leisure, commercial and education projects.
- Have strong technical ability.
- The successful candidate will take a lead on projects through delivery stages.
- Job running experience is essential. A few other requirements include: Production of technical information for tender packages and construction information whilst attending site meetings with the client, contractor, and other consultants.
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
- Experience working on projects in the Commercial Sector.
- Experience with both new build and refurbishment commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of current UK Building and Planning Regulations.
- Liaise with M+E, Structural, Fire Engineer and other external consultants.
- Working to tight deadlines.
- Job running experience of 5 years.
- You will need to be confident working closely with other members of the team as well as managing some aspects of the project independently.
- You will need to feel confident attending client meetings and managing client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- To produce construction information in order to deliver in accordance with the Main Contractors Information Release Schedule.
- Design of detailed interfaces in respect of façade and internal construction.
- Attend design and co-ordination workshops with Main Contractor.
- Review, comment and approve sub-contractor drawings and specifications.
- Report to the Design Manager on production progress and deliverables on a weekly basis.
- The salary for this position ranges from £35,000 to £45,000 depending on previous experience and ability.
