Job Title: Web Designer
Location: Cardiff
Salary: £25,000 per annum for a 37.5-hour week, with an expectation of 7.5 hours per day.
Job type: Full–time, Permanent, Fully remote
The Role
Established in 2002, Sotic is an award-winning digital sports agency, working with some of the biggest names in sport. We’re looking for a web designer with a natural flair for design and UX and a keen eye for visual detail, to work within our build team to design and create high quality responsive websites and digital products for major sports tournaments and organisations.
You will join an exciting, dynamic and highly supportive team to deliver leading-edge user interfaces across a range of client websites and digital products. You’ll be skilled at translating client and user requirements into brilliant concepts and prototypes and then into innovative and functional designs. You will have a solid understanding of UX focused user research and will be passionate and knowledgeable about the latest trends in UI and web design.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth UX led research on client pain points, aspirations and requirements
- Provide scalable, mobile-first designs for responsive websites
- Confidently present designs to colleagues, clients and stakeholders
- Work with developers to prototype websites and create wireframes
- Suggest suitable tools and software to support the design and build process
Essential Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in web design
- Experience of working with Adobe Suite, in particular XD, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience of wireframing and prototyping
- A solid understanding of HTML/CSS
- Strong design and conceptual ideation abilities
- A sharp eye for detail and a focus on perfection
- Excellent understanding of user experience requirements
- Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
- Ability to adhere to style standards on fonts, colours and images
Desirable Skills
- Experience of application UI design
- Professional qualification in a relevant subject
- Experience of working within a development team
- A focus on accessible design
- An understanding of and appreciation for sport
Location
We have adopted a hybrid working pattern, meaning most of your time will be spent working remotely. You will have the opportunity to meet regularly with colleagues in a co-working environment.
