The Role:
We are looking for a Sales Manager to join our Sales and Customer Accounts Team in Sheffield. In this role you will.
- Identify new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers and convert them into sales.
- Communicate new product propositions to existing and prospective customers
- Maintain Customer Relationship Management database and Business Development Database accurately and in a timely manner
- Promote and develop corporate image and reputation and contribute to overall business development plan
- Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions, trends and changes
- Work closely with our Customer Excellent Manager and Customer Accounts Team.
- Focus on managing relationships with existing customers.
- Be responsible for reviewing and issuing quotations for new and existing products (in line with our Costings Team).
- Responsible for reviewing, creating and issuing commercial contract with customers.
- Coordinating communication between Customers, Customer Account Managers, Local Area Managers (LAMs), Technical and QA Teams, identifying clear roles and escalation points.
- Liaise with Local Account Managers (located round the globe) on business development activities.
- Encourage and coach CAT to make intelligent decision making (in line with Customer Excellence Manager).
- Generate business opportunities for the company with existing customers.
- Provide accurate reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director.
- The role will include a full training package with pathways for progression and salary increases in line with skills increases.
- This role will include National and International travel on a regular basis to visit existing customers.
The Candidate:
- You will be proactive, resilient and be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers.
- Have a firm grasp of engineering and technical information
- You should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and resilience, maintain a positive can-do approach and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- You will be flexible, have a hands-on approach, have fantastic inter-personal skills, be an excellent team player and have the ability to meet targets.
- Provide excellent customer service to a focused set of existing key accounts.
- A team player with experience of end-to-end customer service – driving orders from receipt through to despatch of finished product.
- Proven experience of managing customers from enquiry through to order receipt – closing the deal!
- Confident working in an autonomous role; you’ll get supported but will be relied on to be the self motivator.
- Exceptional communication skills working directly with an international customer base over potential issues and through, advice and liaison, developing solutions to ensure their requirements are met in a timely manner.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven track record in a Technical Sales or Engineering role within an engineering market sector; often you’ll liaise directly with other engineers and technical teams as well as purchasing and leadership contacts
- Experience of working in a target driven sales environment
- Excellent proposal presentation skills
- Experience of providing quotations for products and orders
- Experience managing Commercial contract and agreements with customers
- A current full UK manual driving license
- Ability to persuade and negotiate
- Flexible on travel to multiple local sites
- A Technical or Engineering qualification would be an advantage
