Job Title: In-house Construction Lawyer
Location: London
Salary: £450 per day plus benefits
Job type: Part time (1 day per week)
Introduction:
APT Group Holdings is looking for a part time in-house construction lawyer to work on a variety of construction related matters. A minimum of 5 years’ experience required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing of appointment contracts received with client tenders to identify risks to the company
- Negotiating and drafting of appointment contracts and joint venture agreements, drafting supply chain step-down contracts.
- Liaising closely with commercial teams to manage the process of contract review through to the signing of contracts and advisory through the life of the project.
- Assisting with updating precedent documents.
- Managing actions to be taken in a dispute situation.
- Giving ad hoc advice on issues that arise.
- Working with external lawyers and the company’s insurance brokers.
About you
An experienced construction lawyer familiar with JCT and NEC contracts, employment law and general knowledge of the construction industry. You have experience in carrying out risk reviews of bespoke forms of consultancy appointment and all ancillary documentation such as NDAs, collateral warranties, Subject to Planning Option Agreements, PCG/performance bonds, sub-contract/sub-consultant contracts.
You have an understanding of regulatory compliance issues including anti-bribery, data protection, modern slaver, etc. You have strong technical legal knowledge and a commercial understanding of the construction industry.
