Warehouse Operative
We are currently looking for capable individuals to join our Yard team on permanent basis. We have are looking to expand the team through hiring yard operatives focusing on painting, sanding or working within our loading department. Other general duties will include preparing kit to be sent to site, loading & unloading the lorries, whilst making sure the kit for the construction crew is delivered on site on time and in required quantities.
The core working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, however there is a requirement to frequently work additional hours, including weekends. The starting rate is £10.00 per hour or £11 with FLT licence, any hours worked in excess of the core hours are paid as overtime.
A lot of the kit is stored in the open yard, therefore the work often requires being outside.
Working clothes and PPE will be provided.
Skills and Experience required:
- Accuracy and attention to detail when picking the kit.
- Physically fit – the work requires a lot of manual handling and lifting.
- Willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Counterbalance FLT experience is desired / licence preferred.
- Basic level of English language.
- A disciplined person, good timekeeping is important.
- Living locally to the St Ives / Huntingdon area.
Career Progression:
On successful completion of a 6-month probationary period progression is achieved based on a performance and qualification assessment.
