Job Title: Seating Rigger

Arena provides temporary event services, designing and delivering complete environments for the most prestigious sporting, commercial and cultural occasions in the global calendar. With over 250 years of experience, we have worked in partnership with several iconic events including: The PGA Tour, Wimbledon, ITV, Kensington Palace, Cheltenham Festival and London 2012, to name just a few.
We are currently looking for Seating Riggers to join our growing site crew on a full-time permanent basis within our Arena Seating Division.
Purpose of the Job:
In this role you will assist in erecting and dismantling temporary and permanent grandstands, in accordance with project specific plans and CDM regulations for a range of different events throughout the UK. The grandstands vary in size from a small 2-3 hundred stand to several thousands, taking anywhere from 1-2 days to many weeks to complete.
The hours are varied, with seating riggers working a minimum of 40 hours per week with plenty of opportunities for overtime.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Successfully carrying out required training
- Gaining in-depth knowledge of seating and scaffolding systems
- Following Health and Safety regulations
- Carrying out physical labour on site
- Working in a busy construction environment with heavy plant movement
- Adhering to site rules, CDM regulations, safe systems of work and company procedures
- Interpreting and working from site specific plans and layout drawings (training and supervision provided)
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Working on (post certification) plant equipment such as:
- Counterbalance Forklift
- Rough Terrain
- Telehandler
- Scissor Lift
- Cherry Picker
- Working at height in all weathers
Essential Qualities :
- Experience working in construction
- Physically fit and able to work at a fast pace
- Willing to commit to overtime and overnight stays, hotel and subsidies covered
- Able to follow instructions
- Good time-management skills
- An ability to think ahead and pre-empt issues, whilst working under pressure
- Professional attitude and conduct
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Qualities:
- Experience with Modular Scaffolding
- CRO / CSCS card
- NPORS Card
- Valid Plant Certificates such as a Forklift Licence
- Confident in working at height
- Understanding of basic harness fitting and use
- Awareness of safety procedures and PPE use
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practices
- First Aid at Work
Career Progression:
On successful completion of a 6-month probationary period progression is achieved based on a performance and qualification assessment.
