Job Title: Business Admin Apprentice

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Salary: £9,800+ per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 37 hrs per wk, Mon – Thurs 8.30am – 4.30pm, Fri – 4.00pm

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual looking to start a career in Business Administration primarily supporting the Sales Service & Operations Co-Ordinator you will also work within other areas of the business. You will be required to undertake a Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.

This role is available for immediate start and may suit someone who has left college and is now ready to kick start their career, someone who has basic skills wanting to develop and progress or an individual looking for a change in direction.

We are looking for an apprentice eager to learn new skills with energy and drive to learn about our business. You will need to demonstrate good communication skills, be organised, methodical, with attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be very much part of the team and will have the opportunity to further develop their skills. We see this as a permanent role and we aim to develop and progress colleagues within all our departments, a number of our senior team and managers have progressed to this level via the Apprenticeship pathway.

Oilgear UK is part of the international Oilgear group producing High Pressure Hydraulic equipment and systems in the UK with facilities located strategically around the globe. Oilgear have been producing electronic control systems for over 40 years within a business that was created in 1921, we are celebrating 100 years in business.

The site is conveniently situated approximately 1 mile from the centre of Leeds with easy transport links to both the city centre and the motorway. There is free car parking.

About the role:

  • Administration support for office team including sales, service & finance
  • Reception duties, meet and greet visitors, prepare meeting room & organise refreshments for visitors & internal meetings
  • Answer the telephone and direct calls
  • General duties inc. preparing & distributing post, filing, scanning, printing & photocopying
  • Making appointments & arranging travel and hotel bookings
  • Taking meeting notes
  • Sales reporting & updating & maintaining data
  • Updating production plans
  • General admin support of service & repair team
  • Assisting in collating information and quote reporting

About you:

  • GCSE Maths & English (ideally 4+ or equivalent)
  • A positive, “can-do & will do” attitude
  • Inquisitive, willing to learn and ask questions
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills
  • Friendly, approachable, flexible & organised
