Job Title: Buyer/Logistics Co-ordinator
Location: Billingshurst, RH14 9EZ
Salary: c £28,000 – dependant on experience – plus bonus
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
BPH is a leading supplier of excavator attachments for sale or hire. With depots in the south and the midlands, we cover the whole of the UK and offer next day delivery for in stock products. We also have a selection of used excavator attachments for sale, and we’re renowned for providing high-quality products and a reliable service.
Key Duties:
- Buying of consumable items and parts to support maintenance, repair and overhaul activities (70% of time)
- Responsible for purchase order from placement to receipt
- Negotiating best value in all transactions
- Arranging transport of goods from and to EU and overseas suppliers/customers (30% of time)
- Liaising with haulage brokers to receive quotes for the movement of goods, transit times, delivery schedules etc
- Managing UK-EU exports and imports, with customs agents
- Building and maintaining relationships internally and externally
Key Competencies:
- Working knowledge of international sea and road freight, shipping, customs documentation and Incoterms
- Experience of booking of transport collections and deliveries to and from EU
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Team player with the ability to use own initiative
- Good working knowledge of MS Office suite
- Basic Excel user level, Intermediate level ideally
- Able to self-motivate and take ownership of their job role
