Job Title: Seasonal Assistants
Location: Titchfield, Fareham, PO14 4PR
Salary: £8.91 per hour, rising to £9.50 from April
Job type: Seasonal – February to September
Hours: Week 1 = 32 hours, week 2 = 48 hours. Average contract hours = 40. Working every other weekend.
With over 50 years of experience, Hambrooks pride ourselves on our knowledge and expertise. Not just on the design and build of every type of garden, but also on our horticultural knowledge. This means there is very little we do not know about gardens.
The show gardens at our Centre are for inspiration and for ideas to help customers make informed decisions about their gardens. Each garden has its own style and unique materials, allowing you to take individual aspects out of any of the show gardens to adapt in their outdoor space.
We are therefore looking for Seasonal Assistants to join the team to undertake a variety of jobs within a garden centre environment.
About you:
Required Skills
- Working in sales and/or a customer service environment
- Computer literate
- Reliable
- Lifting and moving stock
- A positive ‘Can Do’ attitude
- Able to use initiative
- Enjoys working outdoors in all weather
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience working in a Garden Centre environment – Desired
- Plant/Horticulture knowledge
- Forklift licence
- Ordering products, stock control and merchandising
- Answering customer questions & queries on plants
