Job Title: Commercial Director
Location: Remote
Salary: £40,000-£70,000 DOE
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
We’re a sustainable tech start up launched in 2018, with 11 zero emission delivery hubs in UK cities. At Zedify our purpose is to rapidly transform urban logistics, and bring about the healthier, cleaner and more liveable cities of the future.
Zedify is shaking things up in the logistics sector by transforming the way first and last mile deliveries are done. Our unique system for consolidated, zero emission deliveries ensures consumers get their items how and when they want, and is helping to create healthier, more liveable cities.
- Hybrid remote role, with flexible working – Cambridge HQ
- Help cities become better places to live and work, with cleaner air for everyone
- Catapult your career into sustainable technology
- Use your experience to build an exceptional sales function
The Opportunity
Central to the success of Zedify is our ability to grow our national accounts across our operations so that we have the delivery volumes to expand and grow into new cities.
Key responsibilities and Accountabilities:
You’ll be tasked with building and executing the sales strategy based around our value proposition.
You’ll work closely with the founders and the Head of Marketing to put in place a strong sales pipeline at the national level, alongside sales tools and approaches that make things simpler and more efficient at the local level.
You’ll continue to develop systems and processes to ensure tracking and monitoring of success and failure so that we have a streamlined commercial function.
We’re building a larger sales team and you’ll be responsible for managing this growth including recruitment, training, and support whilst creating a positive and ethical sales culture fundamental to Zedify’s values.
You’ll understand how important the client experience is and be able to make key decisions that will allow Zedify’s services to expand rapidly while ensuring sector-leading customer satisfaction and retention.
The Candidate:
You’ll be a naturally talented communicator with the ability to quickly break down complex issues into accessible, inspiring language. You’ll want to make a difference and be part of a team that’s excited about addressing big issues like climate change, and making our cities more liveable.
We’re looking for someone who is keen to head up this key area but as a small team, you’ll be able to work independently, developing leads and looking for growth opportunities. As well as getting stuck into national-level sales with larger brands, you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to build the longer term strategy and set the agenda for growth at the national and local level. You’ll ensure we have a logical and adaptable system for developing, tracking and reporting on sales across the group.
You’ll be keen to manage and build your own team as the company grows and you’ll be able to demonstrate how you’ve tracked your teams’ performance.
You’ll need to have experience in all aspects of sales/business development, particularly working with national and global brands. We’re looking for someone who demonstrates initiative and an ability to problem-solve, rather than a desire to sit within a tightly-managed corporate structure. We would expect you to grow with the role and have the capacity and ambition to develop your own team as the business develops.
A background in logistics sales would be a huge plus.
