Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week flexible on core hours

The role:
We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Packaging Technologist to join the Technical Team. Reporting to the Divisional Innovation Manager you will support the technical team across all areas of the business. The role will include the design, development and manufacture of packaging for a range of products and different flexible film markets.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Support the development of new packaging products.
- Ensuring that packaging products meet set requirements and specifications
- Producing samples to try out different materials and designs
- Liaising with the commercial, purchasing and operations staff
- Identifying opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality
- Running trials to check packaging for suitability and testing for performance under various conditions
- Controlling production and quality standards, including reporting packaging that doesn’t meet these
- Meeting with customers to support their packaging requirements and developments.
- Keeping up to date with technological innovations.

Knowledge, Training and Experience required
- Previous experience working as a Packaging Technologist, ideally in the Food industry.
- Good IT skills, proficient with all Microsoft Office Packages
- UK driving license and owns a car due to customer visits.
