Harrogate Borough Council has secured funding to provide additional support to ex-offenders and are looking for a Tenancy Support Officer to work within the Housing Needs team.
You will be working closely with the Private Sector Team and the Housing Options Team to provide tenancy support to ex-offenders aiming to reduce rough sleeping and reoffending. You will provide guidance and assistance to ensure they are able to successfully sustain their private tenancies, develop social and independent living skills, make positive changes to their lives and thrive in their local community upon their release.
We are looking for dynamic individuals with a knowledge of housing and homelessness issues, welfare benefits systems and an understanding of the health, housing and work issues facing people leaving prisons.
About You:
To meet the requirements of this key role you must have experience in a housing related support role, including support planning and advocacy and an ability to work with ex-offenders and vulnerable people in difficult situations with complex needs.
With a passion for collaborative, multi-agency working you will have a proven ability to inspire and motivate people, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and you will be able to work well under pressure.
You should have a full clean driving licence and use of a vehicle, for which an appropriate allowance is payable.
You will also need to go through a standard DBS clearance
