The Role:
The Spray Paint Department at Stage One works closely with the Priming Team and Finishing Department. Because we encounter such a broad range of projects, we need to be able to satisfy the equally broad range of variables regarding paint application, curing, durability of finish and appearance.
Paint Sprayers support the HQ Paint department in delivering high end exhibition finishes on required projects. They will work within the HQ team to deliver projects on time within the paint schedule, whilst ensuring that the Company’s statutory and quality procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
Production
- Applying primer coats using spray guns and rub down surfaces between coats
- Mixing paints using a schemed database system
- Preparing materials including filling & sanding and preparing surfaces using metal, wood or plastic part to sand or ground surface.
- Applying base coats and lacquer finishes
- Working in a spray booth to ensure paint is confined to the specific areas
- Using internal ERP system for signing off stages in production
Quality & H&S
- Inspecting products for flaws, bubbles and/or imperfections and correcting imperfections
- Ensure that production items and tasks are completed in accordance with the QMS
- Ensure health and safety requirements are always met in the work area
- Ensuring housekeeping standards are met within the workshop areas across all hangars

Qualifications
- A general education to include 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above (including Maths and English), or an equivalent educational qualification, or relevant experience (Essential)
- Apprentice trained (Desired)
Knowledge
- Painting/Spraying knowledge (High Quality standard i.e. Automotive industry experience) (Essential)
- Knowledge of H&S and correct use of PPE (Essential)
- Understanding of health and safety issues in relation to manual handling and COSHH (Essential)
- Knowledge of different paints and primers (Essential)
Skills, abilities and competencies
- Previous experience within a workshop environment (Essential)
- Competent in preparing materials including filling and sanding (Essential)
- Understanding of health and safety issues in relation to manual handling and COSHH (Essential)
- Knowledge of different paints and primers (Essential)

Additional information: Hours: 7.30am – 4.00pm with regular overtime, weekend work may be required
