Salary: £18,000- £22,000 per annum

Alexander Timber Design Ltd. Is a leading Timber Frame and Roof Truss manufacturer. They are a division of Glennon Brothers Sawmill who have been involved in the timber industry for five generations. Timber frame construction and the manufacture of timber trusses is a well-established part of the company’s activities. Timber frame kits for individual homes, housing and flatted developments, office blocks, nursing homes and many other building projects have been regularly supplied to many clients, from private individuals to the most prestigious national building and construction companies.

We are recruiting for a Timber Frame Technical Administrator to expand our Timber Frame Administration team.

The role:

We are a growing and expanding business therefore are recruiting for additional administrative support to our Administration team. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Timber Frame and will be responsible for the preparation of production documents, site information/documents whilst working closely with Timber Frame Technicians and internal production team.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Preparing accurate production drawings/files in line with project requirements
  • Creating accurate site issue drawings in line with project requirements
  • Assist in general day to day running of the design office
  • Prepare material schedules
  • Liaising with the estimating team in the production of estimates
  • Coordinating and distributing design information to the production coordinator

The Candidate:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD software
  • Develop drawings for new and existing projects
  • Ability to read and understand architectural/engineering drawings
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Dependable
  • Flexible approach to working
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Results driven whilst participating in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Construction knowledge
