About the role:
Our principal is that nobody leaves unhappy, and you’ll be expected to lead by example
You’ll be working closely with the Café Manager to ensure all customers are delighted with the quality of food and receive consistent, exceptional service in both the Café and Fodder on the Hoof.
You’ll also need to train and motivate the staff and to ensure they are knowledgeable about the amazing Yorkshire food we serve and keep a positive atmosphere in the café at all times.
It’s important that you build a strong relationship with the chefs, to make sure everything runs smoothly and ensure that in the Manager’s absence you are able to run the café, either alone or with the Team Leader.
About you:
- This is a hands-on physically demanding role
- A passion both for good food and for showcasing food from Yorkshire.
- Excellent people management skills especially the ability to motivate staff and foster good team working and proactively and tenaciously manage people through changing times
- Good understanding of margins and GP, actively helping to create new promotions
- Must be organised and efficient with the admin of rotas, timesheets, preparing menus for print etc.
- Ability to effectively present food and respond to questions from customers and staff
- Good oral communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to prioritise, manage priorities, create effective work plans and meet deadlines
