Working Hours: 37 hrs per wk – Mon-Thurs 8.30 – 4.30pm, Fri 8.30 – 4.00pm (Flex Fri scheme).

About the Role:
Due to our continued growth Oilgear Leeds is currently recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding team, supporting the company as the business moves into new market areas, whilst also supporting the existing customer base. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about engineering. The successful candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, ideally with technical knowledge of hydraulic systems although this is not essential.
The salary available for this role will depend entirely on the individuals experience and skills. Additional Benefits Package includes Flexible Friday pm scheme, 30 hols inc to 33 with service, Enhanced Sick Pay Scheme, DIS Scheme, Pension
There is free car parking. The site is conveniently situated approximately 1 mile from the centre of Leeds with easy transport links to both the city centre and the motorway.
Key Duties:
- Design & development of products, manifolds and unit assembly both existing & new, through to launch and through life
- Provide technical design support to engineering team, sales team and our customers
- Preparing reports to demonstrate technical progress on projects
- BOM creation
- Research & development to create design prototypes
- Resolve product development issues through creative testing and re-engineering
- Perform necessary technical calculations and testing to ensure functionality
Person Specification:
Technical/Job Specific
- A degree qualification or equivalent in mechanical engineering
- Experience in hydraulic unit and mechanical design, preferably in heavy industry
- Experience in similar role
- Proficient and fully conversant in Solidworks
- Experience in Epicor, Jobshop, MS Project an advantage
- Experience and knowledge of FEA & CRD (or similar) would be an advantage
Core Skills
