Job Title: Transport Planner
Location: Haslingden
Salary: £21,000 to £23,500 based on skills experience and qualifications
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 07:00am to 16:00pm

The role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to join the Transport team. Reporting to the Transport Manager you will support our Haslingden site’s storage and distribution of our products, maintaining optimal efficiencies whilst ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Contribute to Logistics activity, coordination and KPI’s
- UK and Export shipments, generating shipment lists, obtaining all relevant information and documentation from the Chamber of Commerce etc
- Booking and scheduling transport to collect and deliver using our external suppliers
- Tracking/Monitoring shipments and chasing deliveries, obtaining POD’s
- Communication with the Commercial Team regarding customer deliveries
- Organise miscellaneous deliveries and collections for other departments
- Research into new potential transport suppliers
- Hands on support in busy periods and covering holidays in the despatch facility, putting pallets away using FLT’s, loading and unloading vehicles, general warehouse functions
- Liaising with drivers

- Self motivated and can work under pressure
- Able to overcome obstacles with a team approach
- Interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels and to motivate others
- Written and spoken communication skills that allow you to inform and advise
Knowledge, Training and Experience required
- Educated to A-Level or Equivalent (essential)
- LEAN qualification (desirable)
- Logistics, Transport and Warehouse in a FMCG environment. (essential)
- T Cardboard System for despatch
- FLT License (desirable, training will be provided for the ideal candidate)
- Car driver with the relevant license
- ERP System (EPICOR, EMWW handheld)
- Excellent IT skills, proficient with all Microsoft Office Packages
