The Role:

Our client is looking for an operations manager to join the management team, the role reports directly to the Managing Director. The successful candidate will need to be an independent and driven senior manager with the ability to lead a business.

This opportunity will enrich your Operations base and knowledge enormously.

Operations covers all aspects of the value adding production process, from procurement to despatch. Flexible and agile supply chains underpin the assembly process, and an essential part of the role is to further develop the supply chain to maintain and develop this core competency.

This role will be based in our modern manufacturing facility, near to Glasgow with easy access to major transport routes.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Lead process and productivity improvement to support our Strategic Intent.
  • Develop cost effective and efficient supply chain to bolster our lead time performance.
  • Champion sustainable processes through the supply chain and the production process.
  • Spearhead the strategic mapping of core competency for the key processes/supply chains/people to further develop core competency and competitive advantage.
  • Work with Leadership to develop overall strategies.
  • Drive up skilling across the function.

The Candidate:

  • Good understanding of supply chains and how to manage and develop them.
  • 3+ Years in a high mix/medium volume production environment. Ideally electromechanical/mechanical
  • Requires knowledge within the automation sector
  • Strong Improvement culture, ideally proven experience of delivering production wide change and improvement programs such as Leam, Sig Sigma etc.
  • Experience of short lead time/high quality/continuous improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer focus.
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Must have direct experience within an ISO environment.
  • Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Exhibits a curious mind.
  • Demonstrated ability to make things happen-this is an important characteristic.
  • Knowledge of front end of innovation tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated success of successful operations improvement.
  • Demonstrated success in more than one industry.
