About the role:

As a Cloud Solution Architect, one of your roles will be to assist new and existing customers to design and deploy services and business solutions within our VMWare based private cloud or help to design and deliver some form of transformation or improvements, upgrades, etc. to customers on Public Cloud offerings such as Azure or AWS.

Infrastructure Support

A key reason customers choose Ekco for private cloud services is that we offer high-performing and resilient infrastructure. This includes the latest servers, Pure Storage All, Flash Arrays, resilient Tier-1 transit providers, and so on. As a Cloud Solution Architect at Ekco, one of the primary responsibilities is to monitor and maintain our compute and storage infrastructure to the highest possible standard.

Architecture and Orchestration

Our clients are looking for assistance navigating the vast array of services available (including DaaS, Networking, DR, Kubernetes, and Bespoke Managed Services), as well as expert setup and configuration in line with best-practice guidelines. We offer custom management, monitoring, and alerting for the team to support and improve for our customers. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to help deliver our capabilities in specific areas through the ‘Product Champions’ scheme within the Ekco Group.

About you:

Essential Skills

  • 5 years VMware experience, within a large-scale environment, with a high standard of vSphere knowledge (ideally including 6.7)
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery (ideally Veeam and/or Zerto)
  • Monitoring – e.g. Nagios / Zabbix / Solarwinds / PRTG
  • SAN storage arrays (ideally at least one of Pure, Dell EMC, or Dell EqualLogic)
  • High level of written and spoken English
  • High standard of documentation

Bonus points if you have experience:

  • Linux Server Administration
  • Windows Server Administration
  • Scripting knowledge – e.g. Powershell / Python / Bash
  • Azure / AWS Public Cloud Administration
  • Network and Firewall Administration
  • Remote Datacenter Management
