Location: London

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000+ per annum depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

The role: This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of London’s leading meat wholesalers. We are a rapidly growing business and are looking for a Technical manager who can really make a difference in this role through high delivery and continuous improvement. You will oversee all aspects of food safety and quality assurance within our business encompassing the full range of catering butchery operations and meat prep manufacturing. You will be tasked with establishing and monitoring food safety and quality procedures, with the overall goal of ensuring that we are delivering high quality and safe products to our customers at all times

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

As Technical Manager, you will lead and manage the production facility from a technical perspective to ensure all products are safe, legal and produced to exceed all internal and external specifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • All technical and quality activities including frequent and continued presence on the production floor working collaboratively with the production team to ensure good practice
  • Lead the HACCP teams, ensuring regular reviews, maintenance of systems and implementations
  • Approve and monitor our suppliers
  • Investigate all food safety / quality non-conformance and ensure that corrective actions have been identified and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with technical, hygiene and process standards
  • Ensure audits and projects are completed in line with customer and company schedules
  • Contribute to strategic improvements and development across factory operations
  • Ensure that the site meets all traceability and labelling law along with legal compliance of all food directives

The Candidate:

  • Technical Management experience with food production
  • HACCP certified
  • Food hygiene qualification
  • Food safety auditing and product specification writing experience
  • Strong understanding of food safety and legal standards
