The role:
We are looking for experience Data Engineers/ Architect who have good experience working with data design, Big data technologies, strong consulting or stakeholder management skills.
The data team is focused on the industrialisation of technologies that have made it into the mainstream. However, increasingly our clients are struggling to drive value out of Big Data technologies due to a lack of architecture, skills and compelling business cases. This team brings together a great team of leading practitioners in IoT, AI and Data technologies that realise the value and promise of these emerged technologies.
You will be working and learning from some of the most talented and experienced professionals in the technology industry. Our architects, engineers, and delivery professionals are helping the world’s largest organisations to build their strategies, next-generation architectures and solutions.
Technical Experience:
- Experience with programming languages Python, Scala or Java
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases
- Experience with either AWS or Kafka
- experience with a medium/large technology consultancy.
- Experience with visualization tools such as power BI or Tableau
- Knowledge of back end programming, specifically Java with understanding of design patterns such as dependency injection.
- Experience with Big data technologies
- Experience with Elastic Search (Desirable)
- Experience with Gremlin or similar languages
- Experience with graph databases
Soft Skills:
- Likely technical degree with work experience with a medium/large technology consultancy.
- Still fairly hands on – as comfortable opening a terminal and troubleshooting system issues as drawing up solution designs or talking with senior stakeholders.
- Listen to, evaluate, guide and challenge where appropriate requirements from business users whilst taking a view of technical feasibility, deliverability and strategic architecture alignment.
- Steer technical resources to implement high quality solutions cost effectively and quickly.
- Comfortable working with blended teams from multiple suppliers. Able to evaluate technical delivery estimates and willing and able to challenge where not believed to be reasonable or aligned to customer’s interests.
