Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Reading, Basingstoke, Woking
Salary: £27,000 – £29,250 per annum + Overtime + Van

The Company:
Privately owned Recycling Company has an excellent reputation for the supply of high quality Waste Compaction Machinery & Equipment and Recycling Services to commercial customers within both the private and public sectors. Experiencing continuous growth, the company now wishes to strengthen its highly motivated Field Service Team by appointing a suitably experienced and skilled Field Service Engineer to cover the M4 corridor, from Reading to Slough and surrounding areas.
The Role:
The appointee will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance, servicing and fault finding plus breakdown cover on a range of Recycling and Waste Management Machinery and Equipment, including balers and compactors. Candidates should, therefore, live in or within easy access of the area and possess the multi-skilled engineering and fault finding capabilities to work effectively on equipment requiring experience of hydraulic systems and a good working knowledge of electrics. Knowledge of MIG Welding is also required and, although not essential, relevant experience within the Recycling or Waste Management industry would be advantageous.
Key Duties:
- Carrying out servicing on Compaction machinery
- Carrying out reported repairs on Compaction machinery
- Carrying out breakdown repairs when reported (this is where good fault finding skill is preferable)
- Install new Compaction machinery and deliver training on them
- Completing all the correct documentation for all site visits
- Driving to customer sites as scheduled by the main office in Verwood
- Maintaining the vehicles cleanliness both inside & out
- Report any delays, accidents, incidents to the Operations Manager
- Delivering a professional & friendly service to all their customers
- Driving safely and courteously whilst obeying all traffic laws & regulations
- Reporting any mechanical problems of deficiencies with your vehicle
- Competing vehicle inspection including: diesel oil, water, oil, tyres and lights
Key Skills & Experience:
- Full UK driving licence
- Worked with hydraulic systems
- Good knowledge of electrics
- Good fault finding skills
- Knowledge of MIG welding
- Ability to work on their own
- Fork Lift Truck licence
- Be able to stay away from home when required (not often)
- Calmness under pressure

- Courteous
